Olive Leaf Extract Oleuropein 5-98% Hydroxytyrosol 5-40%

Olive tree provides food and shelter to human at the beginning of mankind, and been regarded as a symbol of peace, stability and rich. It is generally believed that olive came from the Mediterranean coast more than 5,000 years ago and was brought to the United States at the first time in the 15th century. There are indications that drinking olive leaf tea comes down traditionally in the Middle East region for several hundred years to treat cough, sore throat, fever, cystitis and other uncomfortable feelings etc. In addition, olive leaf ointment is used to treat boil, rash, warts and other skin diseases. In the early 18th century, olive leaf only begun to attract the attention of medical institutions. A French army colonel, Etienne Pallas, MD, analyzed the leaves composition and isolated a crystalline material from the leaf which named as Strychnine by him, which is a bitter substance that could abate heat effectively.

Description of Olive fruit extract Hydroxytyrosol

Hydroxytyrosol(3,4-dihydroxyphenylethanol) is present in olives water phase after being milled, and also in lower amounts in extra virgin olive oil.

Hydroxytyrosol is known as one of the most antioxidant phenols as a free radical scavenger from a vegetable source. Research has been focused on its antioxidant properties, thanks to the potential of scavenging oxygen reactive species (ROS) and nitrogen (RONS). This activity is given as a consequence of the catechol group (ortho-diphenol) into its molecular structure.

Despite our body having its own internal antioxidant system, the ingestion of external antioxidants, under stressful situations, is seen as positive, because it helps to reduce oxidative stress and associated damages.

Hydroxytyrosol (3,4~dihydroxyphenylethanol) is a phytochemical with antioxidant properties. After gallic acid, hydroxytyrosol is believed to be one of the most powerful antioxidants. Its oxygen radical absorbance capacity is 40,000 umolTE/g, which is ten times higher than that of green tea, and two times higher than that of CoQ10. In nature, hydroxytyrosol is found in olive oil in the form of its elenolic acid ester oleuropein and, especially after degradation, in its plain form. Both compounds, along witholeocanthal, are responsible for the bitter taste of extra virgin olive oil. The olives, leaves and olive pulp contain small amounts of hydroxytyrosol, most of which can be recovered to produce hydroxytyrosol extracts.

Function of Olive fruit extract Hydroxytyrosol

Description of Olive Leaf Extract Oleuropein

Oleuropein is a chemical compound found in olive leaf from the olive tree (and leaves of privet) together with other closely related compounds such as 10-hydroxyoleuropein, ligstroside, and 10-hydroxyligstroside. All these compounds are tyrosol esters of elenolic acid that are further hydroxylated and glycosylated. Oleuropein and its metabolite hydroxytyrosol have powerful antioxidant activity both in vivo and in vitro and give extra-virgin olive oil its bitter, pungent taste. Oleuropein preparations have been claimed to strengthen the immune system power acts as a free radical scavenger, can boost body immunity & enhance functions of human body.

Function of Olive Leaf Extract Oleuropein

- Anti-inflammatory, natural pathogens killer;

- Anti-viral: cure VHSV, increase 10-30% resistance of the infection; cure oral herpes;

- Immune system effect: Olive leaf flavonoids have antimicrobial activity, and olive leaf polyphenols have antioxidant activity;

- Diabetes and bloor sugar control: Oleuropeoside help to improve hypoghycemic activity; Antidiabetic especially alloxan-induced diabetes;

- Anti-HIV viral: Oleuropein do HIV treatment by host cell gene expression;

- Lower blood pressure and increase blood flow;

- Diuretic;

- Antiseptic;

- Astringent;

- Vascular dilation, Vasodilator: reduce atherosclerosis;

- Cardiovascular support: cure heart disease, lowering bad choesterol or lowering density lipoproteins (LDL);
